Thymic carcinoma is a rare, aggressive tumor arising from the thymus. In less than 7% of patients with thymic carcinoma, extrathoracic metastases occur in the extrathoracic lymph nodes, liver, and bone. Isolated splenic metastasis can occur but is very uncommon.
