More and more people are currently discovering the benefits of regional vegetables - we have been growing them for years. Our vegetables grow in the fertile soil of the Calenberger Land. The annually changing cultivation of various crops is part of a sustainable approach to the land that supports us.
Local vegetable cultivation not only benefits the soil, but also the people of the region. Our products go directly to the wholesaler, where buyers are usually already waiting. A short time later it ends up in the displays, kitchens and maybe even on your restaurant plates... Short distances keep the goods fresh and the air clean.
VEGETABLES FROM THE REGION
The vegetable harvest takes place from May to November. Various types of lettuce, zucchini and cabbage grow in the surrounding fields. The helpers harvest the vegetables individually before they go on the conveyor belt for further processing. After cleaning and quality testing, the harvest is delivered to the wholesaler, from where it finds its way to stores. Once the fields are free again, there is room for the new seedlings.
In addition to the potato - strictly speaking not a vegetable, but an "agricultural culture" - our greens are colorful: from iceberg lettuce, various colorful salads, zucchini, kohlrabi, pointed cabbage, cauliflower to various types of white, red and savoy cabbage.
We've been doing what we're doing for a while. Our farm in Holtensen has been in our family for five generations. Cornelia, Christoph, Ruben and Johannes are currently looking after the business: Growing up among strawberries and beets, we feel firmly rooted in the land and its people. Our agriculture is therefore more than field work. For us it means that we pass on valuable things to others.
Valuable – that can be an excellent product or a nice experience, but it also means offering good and fairly paid work to over 250 seasonal helpers: from permanent agricultural staff to office staff to management. We are grateful for the collaboration with all of these people because they make us what we are – a real family business.
