The process of making glass-to-metal (GTS) seals does not involve the oxidation of the metal,
and is free of any corrosive agents. The glass is selected from the tungsten or molybdenum
classes and passed over the metal at temperatures ranging from 1200 to 1400 degrees Celsius.
Once the glass reaches room temperature, the metal becomes brittle and cracks easily, so this
process requires low temperatures.
