A Cat6 ethernet cable is similar to a Cat5 cable since it is made up of four pairs of twisted copper wire. It does, however, offer a lot more functionality. A Cat6 cable may provide speeds of up to 10 Gbps and has a bandwidth capacity of 250 MHz. It is primarily used for computer networks with data transfer rates (DTR) of 1 Gbps or higher. It also works with both Cat5 and Cat5E cables.
