Using defined criteria, approximately one third (n = 564) of revisits with admission had been identified for chart review. Cause for revisit included natural progression of infection (67.6%), new condition or issue (11.2%), diagnostic mistake (6.9%), and scheduled or prepared readmissions (3.5%).
