The Item Upgrader in World of Warcraft The War Within introduced Valorstones, and Harbinger Crests as two currencies for upgrading equipment. These currencies can be exchanged at the item upgrader NPCs, Cuzolth and Vaskarn. Each item can be upgraded to the highest level for a given slot once. Then upgrades to that slot will be less expensive. Additionally the pity system that was introduced with The War Within lowers extreme upgrade luck variance. Upgrades Upgrades are elements that boost performance or add new functions.
