World of Warcraft Item Upgrades The upgrade feature for items lets players upgrade their equipment. This can be done at any item upgrader NPC. Upgrades increase the main stat of an item, and can also add extras based on its type. Examples include Whistan's shield for FB sorcs, or Goldwrap for build casters. Armour Link's armor is a key element to protect him from danger. While it can't be upgraded like weapons, it is able to be improved in a variety of ways to increase its defence cap
