EPL C. Olisse, Who Scored 10 Goals at Palace, to Munich… Transfer Fee of 88.5 Billion Won
Kim Min-jae's team, German professional football team Bayern Munich, has succeeded in recruiting French rising star Michael Olisse (22).
The Munich club announced on the 8th (Korean time) that it had recruited Olisse, who was playing for Crystal Palace in the English Premier League (EPL).
The contract period is five years until June 30, 2029.
According to football transfer specialist Fabricio Romano, the transfer fee is worth a total of 50 million pounds (about 88.5 billion won), and includes a 'sell-on clause' that will pay a portion of the transfer fee received by Munich if they sell Olisse to another club in the future. https://rentry.co/4d77keab
EPL clubs such as Chelsea and Newcastle showed interest in Olisse, but Olisse's choice was the 'giant' Munich of the German Bundesliga.
I'm very happy to be playing for such a big club, said Olisse.
"It's a big challenge and it's exactly where I wanted to be.
I want to prove myself at this level and do my part to help win as many titles as possible."
French striker Olisset made his professional debut for Reading in England in 2019 and moved to Crystal Palace in 2021, scoring 14 goals in 82 league appearances.
In particular, he showed improved performance last season by scoring 10 goals, his highest in a single season, despite playing only 19 games due to a hamstring injury (back thigh muscle).
Thanks to this performance, he was selected for the French U-23 national team and is scheduled to participate in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Munich, which failed to win 12 consecutive Bundesliga titles last season, is showing an active move in the summer transfer market.
According to the BBC, Fulham midfielder Joao Palinha will be joining Munich for a transfer fee of 46 million pounds (about 81.5 billion won).
