The California battery storage facility could store up to 361,000 cell phones. The largest lithium ion battery storage facility in the United States, the facility would be able to hold cells for suppliers and customers of the electric car manufacturer Tesla. The lithium ion batteries would not only store energy but also be used in new electric cars that are coming out of production.
