Multidrug resistance (MDR) of a tumor is the main cause of failure of clinical chemotherapy. Herein, we report a simple, yet versatile, tumor-targeting "calcium ion nanogenerator" (TCaNG) to reverse drug resistance by inducing intracellular Ca2+ bursting.
