Minimal wellness literacy is a concern among US Veterans. In this study, we evaluated NoteAid, something that provides lay definitions to medical jargon terms in EHR records to help Veterans understand EHR notes. We expected that low initial ratings for Veterans will be enhanced making use of NoteAid. We recruited Veterans from the Amazon Mechanical Turk group work platform (MTurk).
