The 65 patients treated nonoperatively (range, 1 day to 14.4 years; median, 0.4 years) were followed closely for 1 month to 9.8 years; only 1 patient died (of unknown reasons), 1 patient received a cardiac transplant, and 9 patients were lost to follow-up. Operative resection is optimal for primary tumors of the heart in patients with obvious symptoms or hemodynamic changes.
